Darfur peace talks in Libya produce only an emboldened Khartoum
As recently as November 9, 2007, Secretary General Ban Ki-moon noted yet again that Khartoum has failed to accept the proposed civilian police and security personnel---more than three months after Resolution 1769, and a year after discussions of such a force were begun in Addis Ababa. China is again supporting Khartoum without qualification despite other forms of obstructionism by the regime, including the refusal to grant land necessary for housing UNAMID forces; denying landing rights for critically important heavy transport aircraft; denying adequate port access; refusing to guarantee unrestricted flights; and refusing to guarantee reporting independence for monitors and other personnel. These forms of obstructionism are detailed in a recent Amnesty International report (see below), as well as by a number of UN officials.

Pear played college football at the University of Washington. .
Mobile World Congress: Day one highlights
The show formerly known as 3GSM is always a busy one, with many mobile and telecoms companies choosing to announce their latest company news on the first day of the show. However, this year the vendors were not only competing with each other to make the biggest splash; the European Commission's competition commissioner and mobile industry public-enemy number-one Viviane Reding was on hand to inject some consumer rights into proceedings. Reding has already taken the operators to task over roaming voice charges, but she chose exactly the right moment to raise the Commission's next regulatory target mobile data roaming. .

Steroids Are Abused for Skin, Not Just Muscles
BARRINGTON, Ill. -- Steroids have been in the press lately and given a bad name for abuse. There must be reasons why people use steroid products on a regular basis and don't know it. Our skin is the largest organ of the human body, and it needs to stay healthy. Most dermatologists treat the 15 million chronic skin patients in the US with steroids, without the patient ever knowing.Consistent steroid use for skin problems can result in thinning of the skin, allergies, resistance to steroid therapy and even Cushing's disease (a consistent redness caused by capillary blockage).Seagate Medical has launched a new natural skin care drug called epizyn that consists primarily of zinc gluconate. It is a unique patented broad spectrum gel and spray topical that penetrates skin on a cellular level to help relieve chronic skin conditions such as pruritis (itchy skin), burns, redness, acne, rashes (especially diaper rash), dry skin, psoriasis, and eczema (atopic dermatitis).
